Oh, I was fine. I just got a few cuts to my arm, it wasn't that bad.
[he said, with a clearer but still suspiciously dark gem in his glasses.]
Listen, I came here because there's something I needed to talk to you about. But we need to keep it quiet for now--there's too much going on and I don't think any of us can handle another revelation just yet.
[One hand went to his pocket, reaching for the Grief Seed he'd gotten from Pokey. It would be cruel to just spring the concept on her, even if it was out of a desire to help; what was the right way to approach this, then?]
[She doesn't...it...there is a shadow on her face as she wrestles with her feelings. She can't show him, can she? He would be so disappointed with all the energy she expended. And...and for what....
...or...is it that lack of energy....talking.......
It's a long pause before she finally touches her ring on her dresser. Her Soul Gem appears. It's light is almost completely gone, so dirty and dark it is. It almost looks purplish.]
... [Worse than he'd expected, which was saying a lot. And with the condition she was in there was no way Madoka would be fighting Nightmares anytime soon. So this was definitely the right call, and Kakyoin honestly felt a little better knowing without a doubt this was right.]
I can fix it. But you can't tell anyone, not yet--once things calm down even a little, I'll explain it to everyone. Would you let me see your gem for a second?
Don't apologize. [His voice wasn't sharp, but didn't leave much room for argument either. Kakyoin carefully picked up Madoka's Soul Gem and took the seed out of his pocket with his other hand.]
Hatsu said all you have to do is hold this up to a gem and... [He brought the two of them together, the corruption pulled off the pink gem and into the seed itself.]
...What do you know, it works even better than she made it sound.
...Sort of...Bonnie had it when I visited her. After she was hurt by...by the Doll. I had planned to bring it up, the next time we had a meeting...but...
...
[The last three months happened.]
.......It didn't purify my Gem or anything like that last time...I couldn't even cleanse it.
Look, I'll spare you the major details for now; the short version is that this has to be gotten rid of after it's been utilized, or else something like that rabbit happens. Hatsu seems fairly sure that it can be left in a Nightmare's barrier and will disappear when the Nightmare's defeated; I'm going to do that tonight.
After we've figured out what to do about that timer, I'll tell everyone. Hopefully there'll be time before I leave for Tsukudo-cho, because if I don't come back obviously that'll be too late.

[...Not...completely better, obviously.]
I'm glad you're all right, too.

[She trails off. Does he know? It doesn't matter. She stops when he speaks.]
Of...of course.
[What is he...]

Th-that's...!!
[She barely can protest, before suddenly, the darkness in her Soul Gem was pulled out, and it was as bright as the day she first transformed.
It even looks like the one Bonnie had!...]
Kakyoin, how did you get that...!?

Oh........
[BONNIE...the gears click as she realizes. It looks like the thing Bonnie had because....it is, isn't it!?
...
Bonnie.......]

I already talked to Bul-...Bonnie about it.

Sigh.]

Are you ok?

[Kakyoin opened his mouth to answer...and at first, said nothing. He closed it again, looked away, and pushed his glasses up slightly.]
...I'm fine.

[Is he really, though?...]
Is something else on your mind?
no subject
[Just everything.]
I should probably go--I have to get rid of this before anything else happens.

[She's quiet, before she slowly nods. Hadn't...there been something he's mentioned on the--]
Ok. Come back any time, ok? And...and don't forget your pudding.
